Turangi is situated at the Southern end of Lake Taupo
  • It is steeped in Maori history with the Ngati Tuwharetoa iwi the Tangata Whenua - nearby Pukawa was where the Kingitanga was signed in 1857.
  • Tokaanu was on the main route north as the launch point across Lake Taupo for the steamers of old.
  • It is the Trout Fishing capital of the world, with the famous Tongariro River and its many tributaries, plus Lake Taupo at its doorstep.
  • It is within easy distance of Tongariro National Park, its walking tracks and skifields.
  • We have an active community of recreational boat owners - many of them fishermen.
  • The Lake is a playground for anglers, waterskiers, wakeboarders, biscuiting, jet skiing and sailing.
